About the Designer
Amy is passionate about using creativity and technology to solve problems. She is especially interested in design, healthcare and technology. She loves leading multi-disciplinary teams to problem solve using design thinking. As a freelance artist, Any also enjoys communicating thoughts, messages and moments through art.
As a design thinker, Amy's first introduction to design thinking was informal, when she created a design team at UC Berkeley to develop DIY medical devices. Through her work at Genentech (leading biotechnology firm), Amy employed design thinking elements in the mini-Kaizen workshops that she hosted. At Stanford Graduate School of Business, Amy continues to engage in design thinking through Biodesign Innovation and other courses & projects. Amy seeks to integrate and apply visual design, design thinking, and business strategy towards developing innovations in healthcare and technology.
As a freelance artist, the Water Collection is Amy's first major body of work, and the portfolio explores the essential nature of water to humans. Our relationship with water is symbolized by combining different qualities of water with the human figure. This series of work highlights our dependence on water to survive and various emotional states towards water. The Water Collection currently includes acrylic paintings, a lino-cut print, and multimedia works. Squirrel Works portfolio is a sampling of independent pieces. Commissioned Designs features artwork that Amy has done for the community. Amy enjoys communicating team missions through art via logo design, visual brand marketing, and commemorative artwork.
